Node.jsReact NativeAWS LambdaTerraform
tl;dr
- [1]Modernized a healthcare services portal end-to-end on Node.js + MongoDB with TDD throughout.
- [2]Shipped a React Native mobile app with offline data synchronization and Redux state management.
- [3]Stood up Terraform-based AWS infrastructure and a Node.js deployment chatbot to clean up the team’s ops loop.
Context
SilverVue is a Salt Lake City-area company building care-coordination tools for the post-acute healthcare market. I joined as a full-stack engineer in 2016 and rotated into a DevOps engineer role for the last quarter before heading back to Goal Zero.
What I built
The work split cleanly into three pieces:
- Modernized a services portal off MeteorJS onto a Node.js + MongoDB backend with React on the front end, all under TDD.
- Shipped a React Native mobile app with offline-first data sync and Redux state management.
- Migrated key workloads onto AWS Lambda microservices and stood up Terraform IaC for AWS resources, plus a Node.js Slack chatbot for deployment status and operational visibility.
Outcomes
A faster, safer deploy loop; a healthcare portal that no longer ran on a deprecated framework; and a mobile app that worked the way clinical-field users actually used it — offline-first.
